Position Summary:
This individual will work in the central parts warehouse and support the company’s network of fleet maintenance facilities by assisting the parts team to manage an inventory of heavy-duty commercial vehicle parts.
This is a physical job where most of your time is devoted to hustling parts on and off industrial shelves. Because of normal dust accumulation in an industrial environment, and handling used parts, you will get dirty.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Accurately fulfill orders from outlying shops by pulling parts from stock shelves and preparing bins of parts for daily shipment.
- Cross check requests for accuracy.
- Lift and carry, sometimes heavy, parts from inventory shelves and prepare them for shipping.
- Cross check part numbers and perform minimal data entry in to an electronic inventory control system where accuracy is critical.
- Handle basic shipping and receiving duties and the appropriate paperwork.
- Receive used parts returned from off-site shops in support of the warranty & core return process
- Effectively communicate relevant, timely information to team members in support of optimizing warranty recovery and maintaining an accurate and current parts inventory.
- Maintain a clean and organized parts warehouse environment
To be qualified for this position, you must possess the following:
- Prior experience in shipping and receiving helpful
- Knowledge and background of heavy truck parts, strongly preferred
- Must be capable of learning to recognize truck parts maintained in inventory
- After receiving company provided training, must be capable and comfortable with safely operating a forklift.
- Ability to lift 50 or more pounds routinely
- Some data entry required, where accuracy is critical
- Good phone skills/etiquette
- Judgment—willing to make decisions, exhibits sound and accurate judgment and makes timely decisions.
- Planning/organizing—the individual prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans.
- Safety and security—the individual observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly
